Animals

Cranes, frogs, rabbits, birds… paper animals, from the simplest to the most detailed. 55 models.

Origami animals of every kind: birds, fish, insects, dogs, rabbits, even a dragon. These paper animals run from the simplest to the most detailed, and most are folded from a single square.

To begin, the crane is the best-known traditional model in Japan, and the starting point for many other folds. For an easy and cute result, Sy Chen's mini panda is folded from a small 10 cm square, black on one side and white on the other. Robert Neale's Scottish terrier is very simple, yet its outline is instantly recognisable. Once you feel at ease, try Roman Diaz's more delicate swan. A tip: duo paper, with a different colour on the reverse, gives your animals more depth straight away.
