New version (2016)
The video is hosted on YouTube: it only loads when you press Play.
We invite you to discover or rediscover one of our favourite origami: the kotobukizuru, or ceremonial crane. It is a majestic variation on the traditional crane. It is given on special occasions such as a wedding or New Year, to offer one's good wishes. It is not easy to fold, as it involves several successive squash folds that are a little tricky (six, to be precise), but once you have understood the principle on your first one, the next ones will be easier! It is also easier to fold with the help of the tip of a pencil or a pen, as you will see in the video. Carefully folded and nicely shaped from a large square, this origami makes a superb decoration, for a wedding for example.
