Links
A small, deliberately short selection: sites we use or that go well with our tutorials. No affiliate links, no advertising.
Our videos
- The Senbazuru YouTube channel: all our video tutorials, with new ones as soon as they come out if you subscribe. (Most videos are in French.)
On this site
- Getting started with origami: paper, first models and the basic folds, to get off to a good start.
- The origami glossary: mountain and valley folds, reverse fold, bird base... the words you meet in folding instructions.
Paper and books
- Origami-shop: the shop of origami artist and publisher Nicolas Terry, who also designed one of our models (see his piglet). Books sorted by level and a wide choice of papers, including large sheets. (The shop is in French.)
Designers you will meet in our tutorials
- Tomoko Fuse, a leading figure of modular origami and boxes. Ten tutorials, for example the Tomoko Fuse box, the fan box and the chopstick rest.
- Kunihiko Kasahara, author of many books of simple, ingenious models. Eight tutorials, including the fox, the octopus and the hen egg cup.
- Yoshihide Momotani, the designer of many models, including kusudamas (page in French). Seven tutorials, including the ladybird, the hare and the flower kusudama.
- Makoto Yamaguchi, who has designed some very beautiful flowers. Five tutorials, including the clematis, the forget-me-not and the cherry blossom.
- Toshikazu Kawasaki, a mathematician and the designer of the famous rose that bears his name: see the Kawasaki rose.
- Oriland, the website of Katrin and Yuri Shumakov, with a gallery of beautifully finished models. Three tutorials: the sweet box, the snowflake card and the star wreath.
- Origamee, the website of Meenakshi Mukerji, showing her modular designs. We do not have a tutorial of hers yet, but her galleries are full of ideas.
Societies
- Mouvement français des plieurs de papier (MFPP): the French origami society, with folding meetings, an events calendar and its magazine Le Pli. The place to meet other folders in France (the site is in French, with an English version).
- British Origami Society: with its convention, its library, its publications and pages for beginners.
- OrigamiUSA: the American society, with its convention, its library and a diagrams page you can browse freely.
- Origami Deutschland: the German society, useful if you read German and want to see what is being folded across the Rhine.
Learn and look up a model
- Origami Club: a very large number of simple models, each with a diagram and an animation. Handy for practising how to read a diagram.
- Origami Database: a database of models with photos, information about designers and links to diagrams or videos. Useful for finding out who designed a model.
