"Windmill base" method

For those who have forgotten how to make it, or who never knew: here is THE French paper chicken, the cocotte, one of the most traditional folds, which for once has nothing to do with Japanese origami. It actually comes from our own continent, more precisely from Spain, and it is known in several European countries under various names (little bird, crow…). There are several ways to fold it.

The first uses the windmill base (a base that is also used for other origami). In fact, the base itself takes the longest; after that, only 3 folds turn it into a cocotte!

The second method is a little quicker than the windmill base: the different parts of the cocotte appear one after the other.

And finally, the purists' method: no unnecessary crease, only those needed to shape the famous bird. It gives a very stable cocotte.
