Gerbera

Makoto Yamaguchi's gerbera is a large origami flower, from the same family as daisies, with colours ranging from yellow to red by way of fuchsia pink. It is not an easy origami, so arm yourself with patience! You will need a large square (at least 15 cm) of paper that is not too thin. For a really pretty result, take the time to shape each petal carefully at the end of the fold.

There is an opening at the back of the flower, so you can slip in a long straight stem, like the one in the lily video. Several gerberas mounted this way make a lovely bouquet to give, for example for Valentine's Day or Mother's Day.

To complete your bouquet, see also the flower on a stem and the Kawasaki rose.
