Traditional model (Japan)

Lily

The video is hosted on YouTube: it only loads when you press Play.

The lily is a traditional Japanese model, which can also be found under the name iris. The folding method shown here uses the frog base, but you can also find instructions to fold it from the bird base, with an identical result.

You can then attach the flower to a stem with a little glue. If I make a flower from a 7.5 cm square (a 15 × 15 cm sheet cut into 4), I use a 15 × 3.75 cm rectangle for the stem (that is, a 15 × 15 cm sheet cut into 4 lengthways).
