Being a huge fan of Tomoko Fuse, I wanted to show you one of her boxes before going on holiday. This Japanese artist has created hundreds of them and has published a great many books about them. What's more, she very often creates variations of her models that give new patterns from the same base. I chose a modular square box for you, made from 8 squares (4 for the bottom and 4 for the lid). Each unit is super simple to fold; you will just need a tiny bit of patience to assemble them, but once you understand the principle, it's quite easy. What I find really brilliant about this model is that the different lid patterns are made with exactly the same units! Only the way you assemble them changes the design, and you can find others by yourself by trying different combinations.
