Cards and envelopes

To write to the people you love, you can fold the card, the envelope, or both. Almost all of these origami cards and envelopes are easy, and most are folded from a simple A4 sheet, which means you can write your message before folding it.

The letter-envelope is a traditional fold: the sheet becomes its own envelope, perfect for a love note or an invitation. The ribbon envelope stays closed without glue, but an A4 sheet gives a small envelope: for a standard card, use A3. The traditional pouch is folded from a square a little more than twice the length of the card (30 cm for a postcard). Finally, Didier Boursin's surprise card opens when you pull on it.
