Traditional model

Letter-envelope

The video is hosted on YouTube: it only loads when you press Play.

The letter-envelope is a traditional fold: an A4 sheet becomes a letter that closes up on itself and turns into its own envelope. It is an easy origami, perfect for slipping in a love note, an invitation or a greeting card. The finished rectangle has a 1:2 ratio.

To close it, you can use a wax seal or a sticker, or simply tuck the flap inside the model. I show you every fold in the video.

If you like this kind of fold, also try the traditional envelope and the star envelope, both folded from an A4 sheet.
