Lotus flower

The lotus flower is a traditional Japanese napkin fold that is simple to make: a real origami for the table. Fold it from a paper napkin, as in the video, for an elegant table decoration. If your napkin is large enough, you can even place a tea light holder in the centre.

You can also fold it from an ordinary sheet of paper, but then the petals are a little harder to turn back. Go gently so as not to tear the paper.
