An origami from the Chinese tradition to celebrate the Lunar New Year: the Lazy Susan, named after the revolving trays found in many restaurants in China. Placed in the centre of a large round table, it makes it easy to pass food to all the guests. Here is the origami version, which is a traditional model. Its five compartments let you put out nibbles, sweets and cakes on your table, or store your paper clips and drawing pins on your desk. As an aside, it is thought that this traditional Chinese model was originally not a tray at all, but represented a Chinese coin with a square hole in the centre, which was burnt at funeral ceremonies.
