Model by Kunihiko Kasahara

Japanese Buddhist monk

The video is hosted on YouTube: it only loads when you press Play.

This character created by Kunihiko Kasahara looks truly Japanese, with his very wide sleeves and pointed hat! It was the traditional yakko san that inspired the author to create this Buddhist monk. It is not folded from a square like classic folds, but from an A4 sheet, or any other rectangle with the same ratio (1:√2 being the exact ratio of an A4 sheet). It takes longer to fold than the yakko san, but as you will see, it is not particularly difficult. Happy folding!
